At Tavcor Motor Group, we believe that owning a car is about more than just wheels on the road; it’s about the journeys we share and the communities we support along the way. While many of us reach for an extra blanket or switch on a heater, countless individuals in our community face the cold nights with little to shield them. Our dealerships across Nelson Mandela Bay came together to spread warmth through a community blanket drive.
Between 8 and 31 July our dealerships — Tavcor Volkswagen, Audi Centre Nelson Mandela Bay, Tavcor Suzuki, Tavcor Commercial Vehicles, Tavcor MotoRent, and Tavcor MG Gqeberha invited customers, staff, and local community members to join us in spreading warmth.
The call was simple: donate a new or pre-loved blanket and help someone in need stay warm through winter. And the response was inspiring. Together, we collected 52 blankets, with Audi Nelson Mandela Bay Centre and Tavcor Commercial Vehicles Mount Road leading the way with the highest contributions.
To extend the impact, our Tavcor TAG Team , a group dedicated to corporate social responsibility and outreach, pledged to match every donation. This meant that every blanket offered by the community was doubled, turning simple acts of kindness into something truly powerful.
Delivery took place in the VW Amarok boasting its generous load compartment, ample space to load over 100 blankets (and the team). These went directly to community members in Walmer township, and the balance donated to MES, an organisation that provides safe housing, skills development, and employment opportunities for those in need.
For Tavcor Motor Group, supporting the community is more than a once-off project, it’s part of who we are. Through initiatives like Blanket Drive and the ongoing efforts of the Tavcor TAG Team, we are committed to uplifting vulnerable individuals, supporting local organisations, and driving positive, lasting change in Nelson Mandela Bay.
