Tavcor Motor Group celebrated Mandela Day 2025, not stopping with 67 minutes; we focused on a month of giving back. From blanket drives to painting and parties with the communities of the Eastern and Southern Cape!

This year’s Mandela Day 2025 theme – “It’s still in our hands to combat poverty and inequity” – is a call to action and a reminder that lasting change begins with each of us. For Tavcor Motor Group, Mandela Month is far more than a date on the calendar; it is a living expression of our values, our history, and our commitment to building stronger communities across the Eastern Cape and Southern Cape.
Community Projects That Made an Impact
Highlights included delivering 48 care packs to Cheshire Home in Cleary Park, restoring the garden at Happy Feet Learning Centre, and giving its treatment room a creative makeover with a mural by Tavcor Repair Zone team member Gabriel Chaponda. Teams also returned to Gelvandale Frail Care Centre with essential items, participated in a joyful “Olympics Day” at Cheshire Homes Summerstrand, donated stationery to Strelizia Primary School, cleaned up North End Lake, supported Mihlali Children’s Haven and doubled up on a blanket drive donation of 85 blankets to MES. Our teams in the Southern Cape upgraded facilities at Nompumelelo Educare Centre, repainted and repaired the playground equipment, did a full garden clean up, fixed lighting in the kitchen and cleaning materials and snack packs for the kids at Sonnebloem Land Creche, served warm soup and spent time engaging with the community at a local Soup Kitchen in Mossel Bay and Knysna.
